I really don't get the big deal. RNH and Yakupov are already playing in the big leagues. Other teams top prospects from the same draft year aren't. If RNH and Yakupov were playing in the tournament I'm sure they would have destroyed everyone else.

Great coverage of the tourney though - well done

Excuse me for being an idiot, but why didn't Roy play? Or did he?

When you've been as lousy as the Oil the last 7 years isn't it kind of expected for the prospect pool to be shallow? They've drafted so high all their top end prospects have already made the team. Hopefully now that the Oil actually have some skill they won't need to push their draft picks through the system so fast.

the only thing that would make we worry, a little, is what he mentioned about klefbom...........maybe it's cuz cloutier over-pumped the kid on this site (it's the only place i ever hear about him), but for someone who was supposed to step right into your top 4 as early as this season, to be struggling so much against prospects, could be concerning.

like i said, it's very likely that cloutier drastically overhyped this guy, which would lead to my opinion.

Pretty sure the kid has been injured for a long time, or at least coming off of one. Should still be a solid player.

Is it possible that Klefbom was over compensating for his defense partners? Trying to do too much is sometimes a problem for younger players. I didn't get to see a whole lot of the tournament, so more of a question not an observation.

My opinion on the the D
Marincin-Looked like the pro he is
Gernat and Musil played really good other than a few penalties
Nurse- Terrible first game game 2lioked like the top 10 pick he is
Klefbom- bad first game (Except 2ndperiod) Decent second game

I winning is a good sign of things to come, but it's more about these you guys getting to know eachother and the system in which the big club plays. I wouldn't read to much into it.

Yeah, before these last 3 games, it was something like 11 months since he played.

NO ONE outside of cloutier expected klefbom to make any sort of real impact this year in the show. Let alone step right into our top 4

This. Give him a year in the A. If he does really well he can be a call up. Remember people, D take longer to develop.

Lander outplayed RNH and Paajarvi looked like God in the rookie tournaments. My answer for any of the panicked out there. As for Klefbom, knew he was going to need time to get back into form. Would be nice if he can still impress a bit in training camp and then put on a fantastic show in OKC for the year. Would love him to get top minutes down there as opposed to 7th d man up here.
